Carrick Swan GAA Notes

Carrick Swan under 21 footballers will be the first club team into championship action. Check fixtures page for confirmation. Meanwhile we encourage a full turnout at all training sessions now in full swing for adult teams. Remember it is very difficult to catch up on missed training sessions taking place now.

We remind all members, supporters and especially players that membership subscription must be paid immediately. The fee of €20 for adults, €10 for minors and €5 for juveniles can be paid to any committee member.

Carrick Swan under 14 hurlers will commence their activities for this year in Carrigeen astroturf tournament due to commence this week-end. All players will receive notification during the week.

Last week’s lotto numbers were 6, 10, 11 and 14. We had no jackpot winner and five match 3 winners each receive €40 – Bridget Boland, Sonya O’Connor, Trishia Maher, Ann Hawkins and Abbey Clery. The juvenile lotto continues to be very well supported by all in our community who appreciate the huge amount of work which is put into the under-age section of our club. We sincerely thank those who play our weekly game and encourage those who have not joined to do so by contacting any committee member. Weekly entry is only €2 and this could win you this week’s jackpot prize of €2,250

The next juvenile disco will take place on Friday 18th February and we look forward to seeing all our regulars and their friends on the night. This strictly supervised event is a most enjoyable night for all the young boys and girls.

The cards for our annual Aintree Grand National sweep are on display in business premises throughout the town and surrounding areas. We thank those who have supported to date and we encourage members and supporters to promote when they can.

Players and supporters are reminded that a large selection of Carrick Swan gear is available from stock and other items can be ordered at any time. Contact juvenile secretary for details.

Carrick Swan club wishes the Tipperary senior hurlers and footballers the best of luck in their 2011 campaigns now commencing. We also extend our best wishes to Tipperary senior hurling captain Eoin Kelly and his bride to be who get married on Friday.

Carrick Swan club extends its sympathy to the Howard family Carrick-Beg, Morohan family Mooncoin and Grace family Ballinacrony on recent bereavements.
