Carrick Swan senior footballers begin their south championship on Sunday next in Kilsheelan where they will line out against Clonmel Commercials at 3.00 p.m.. We wish them the best of luck. Other fixtures drawn recently see us line out against county champions Aherlow in first round of county senior football championship and we have been drawn to play Killenaule in first round of South senior hurling championship.

Our under 14 hurlers are due to play semi-final of Carrigeen astroturf tournament against Glenmore this weekend. All players will receive notification upon confirmation of fixture. Our under 10 panel travelled to Thurles on Saturday last for hurling blitz which was enjoyed by all the players. The under 16 football championship commences soon and all panel members are reminded that a full turn out is expected at organised training sessions. Our under 14 panel will commence their training programme this week and all players will receive notification.

Carrick Swan club looks forward to participating in next week’s St.Patrick’s Day parade where many of our young boys and girls will proudly march in their club colours. All those participating will receive notification of timetable in advance and we request as many helpers as possible on the day.

Last week’s lotto numbers were 14,15,16 & 21. We had no jackpot winner and no match 3 winners. Four €50 lucky dip winners were Noreen Clery, 9 St.Mollerans, Neddy Dignam, Faugheen, Patrick Bannon c/o 7 Marian Avenue and Paul Corcoran, Wilmor  This week’s jackpot is €3,250. We thank all those who continue to support the juvenile lotto, the proceeds of which will help look after our many under-age players and teams throughout the year.

Some membership subscriptions still remain outstanding. This is disappointing and we again remind all players and supporters that subscriptions should be paid immediately.

The Aintree Grand National takes place next month and cards for our annual sweep are on display in business premises throughout the town. We thank all those who have supported to date and we encourage members to promote where possible.

Juvenile players are reminded that we have good quality 26’’, 28’’, 30’’ and 32’’ hurleys, some helmets and large selection of gear for sale. Contact juvenile secretary or team mentor to order. We also request members to leave any unwanted helmets into club for use at juvenile training.

The next juvenile disco is provisionally fixed for Friday 25thMarch. The date will be confirmed later and all the children can look forward to an enjoyable night under strict supervision.
