12th December 2011

Carrick Swan GAA Notes – Monday 12th December 2011.

Many of our underage players are enjoying their Christmas trips at present. The under 10 boys travelled to Clonmel bowling alley on Saturday last where they had an enjoyable time while our under 10 and 12 girls enjoyed a trip to the cinema over the week-end. Thanks to those who helped out with both groups. Next Sunday 18thDecember 100 children will travel to Cork Opera House to see the Christmas pantomime Cinderella. Buses will leave juvenile centre at 10.30 a.m. Food and refreshments will be provided during the day and we expect to return at 8.00 p.m. approximately. We thank the helpers who are making themselves available on Sunday next.

The numbers drawn in last week’s juvenile lotto were 1, 20, 22 & 26. We had no jackpot winner – and 6 match 3 winners who each win €40 – Betty Dalton Clairin, Kieran Butler Piltown, Mary O’Donnell Castle Court, Dixie Ryan c/o Premier Bar, Tom Fleming Ormonde Cres. & Peggy Connolly Piltown. Next week’s jackpot is €4,500 and we sincerely thank all those who continue to play our weekly lotto. We will also be adding some extra Shopping Voucher lucky dip prizes leading up to Christmas.  Entry is €2 and this can be paid to any of our promoters or any committee member.

Our Juvenile Christmas disco on Friday night last was very well attended with all enjoying the night’s activities. We wish all the children a happy Christmas and we thank them for attending throughout the year and also thank those who continue to help out each month. We look forward to seeing you all back again in January.

Carrick Swan annual flag-day collection will take place on Friday next 16thDecember and we look forward to your support. We request those who are available to collect at any time during the day to give their names to secretary or any committee member. The help of our players, members and supporters would be greatly appreciated.

We wish under age player Jack Cooke a speedy recovery from recently sustained leg injury. Hope to see him back in action early in the new year.
