Carrick Swan GAA
Carrick Swan senior hurlers played Killenaule
in first round of south championship on Tuesday evening last in Kilsheelan.
This was a repeat of last year’s south final and while keenly contested the
game did not reach the standard of some of our displays last year. Killenaule
held the upper hand early and led at half time 1-05 to 0-04. We battled back in
second half and missed some good goal scoring opportunities before finishing
strongly to score five unanswered points and secure a deserved draw 0-13 to
1-10. We wish the two Killeanule players who suffered serious accidental
injuries in the game speedy recoveries and hope to see them back in action
again soon. Our next game is
provisionally fixed for May bank holiday weekend against Davins.
Both our senior and minor footballers were
also in championship action over the weekend with the seniors defeating Cahir
