Carrick Swan GAA Notes

Carrick Swan under 21 footballers played Ballyporeen in second round south championship fixture on Saturday last after postponement of game earlier in week. We performed poorly in this game and suffered a disapointing defeat.

Meanwhile our under 14 hurlers had their third successive win in Carrigeen astroturf tournament on Wednesday evening last when they defeated Ballyduff Lower in a very competitive game. We are scheduled to play Glenmore in next round. We hope all the members of this panel who are travelling on school trip this week-end have an enjoyable time.

Last week’s lotto numbers were 5, 8, 19, & 22. We had no jackpot winner and four match 3 winners each receive €50 – Thomas Hogan, 22 St.Johns Tce., Frankie Fahey, 41 Marian Avenue, Tom Kennedy, Clashnasmuth and Becky Quinn, Rathgormack..  This week’s jackpot is €3,000, the figure on which our previous two jackpots were won. We thank all those who continue to support the juvenile lotto and you can join any week by contacting any committee member. Weekly entry is €2 and to date, after 14 weeks of the lotto, we have distributed over €9,000 in prizes.

We remind all members that annual membership subscription should have been paid by now. If you have not already paid you can do so now through any committee member.

We extend best wishes to Billy Loughman who has been ill recently and we wish last year’s senior hurling captain John ‘Sconnie’ Walsh the best of luck as he departs for Australia soon.

Juvenile players are reminded that we have good quality 26’’, 28’’, 30’’ and 32’’ hurleys, some helmets and large selection of gear for sale. Contact juvenile secretary or team mentor to order. We also request members to leave any unwanted helmets into club for use at juvenile training.

A group of our juvenile players will travel to Thurles on Saturday night next for the Tipperary / Waterford national hurling league game under lights in Semple Stadium. Players will receive notification during the week.
