We prepared for this game with a useful workout against Cashel on Sunday morning last. We wish both teams the best of luck. Reports next week.

Carrick Swan club will hold its annual sponsored walk on Sunday 31stJuly and we look forward to the participation of many of our adult and juvenile players, members and supporters. This year’s walk will be to Faugheen, a village steeped in Carrick Swan history.  Sponsorship cards will be issued soon and we look forward to your support.

Carrick Swan under 14 footballers played south (A) championship semi-final on Monday evening last against Clonmel Commercials. Report next week. A number of this panel were also in action with the south Tipperary under 14 hurling team in the Peadar Cummins inter-divisional tournament on Saturday last in The Ragg.  Daniel Walsh, Shane Torpey, Jack Cooke and Dean Fitzgerald proudly represented our club and the team went on to win the tournament with victories over the West and North divisional teams. Meanwhile Mary B.Stuart played her part with the county under 14 (B) girls football team in their recent Munster and All-Ireland semi-final wins. We wish her and the team the best of luck in final. Our under 8’s were in action in blitz in Grangemockler on Saturday last enjoying the morning’s activities. We thank the Grangemockler club for their hospitality.

The summer camp will take place on the week-end of 01stJuly and we encourage all under-age players from 5 to 13 years of age to take part.

The numbers drawn in last week’s juvenile lotto were 7, 17, 24 and 26. We had no jackpot winner and six match three winners each win €40 – Liam Walsh, Marian Ave., Martina Flynn, Orchard Crescent, Margaret Grace, Ormond Court, Mary Walsh, Collins Park, John Kavanagh, Pearse Square and Michael Drohan, Clonmel. We thank all those who continue to support the weekly lotto. This week’s jackpot is €6,250 and we invite those who have not yet joined up to do so now by contacting any committee member.

Carrick Swan club congratulates Denis Landy who took his place at the first sitting of the new Seanad last week. Denis’s tireless work has been rewarded in his election to this position and our club was pleased to have representative attend his civic reception back in Carrick on Friday evening. We wish Denis well in his future political career.

Carrick Swan club extends its sympathy to the family of Pat ‘Roundie’ O’Shea who died suddenly at the week-end. Pat was a member of Carrick Swan’s county winning under 21 team in 1972 and always maintained a keen interest in the fortunes of our club.
