The club was very saddened to hear of the passing of the Late Nellie Barrett, Pearse Square on Thursday October 8th, Nellie was the Matriarch of a great Swan family and hardly surprising given that her late husband Sean was for many years the Swan goalkeeper on many succesful teams as well as a great clubman, a trait that was undoubtedly handed down to his son William. Living across from the club it was natural that the Swan would play a big part in the Barrett household and all have played with the club be it in hurling/football or camogie. Nellie leaves a heartbroken family behind and to Angela, Nicky, Maeve, Joan, William, Sean and Colin and to the whole extended family, our heartfelt condolences on your loss.
