As coaching and games activities

posted 10 Dec 2012, 02:32 by Carrick Swans

now slow down for the Christmas break many of our young players are looking forward to their Christmas trips. The highlight for our younger players is a trip to Waterford panto on Saturday 22nd December which always proves to be a most enjoyable event for all who attend. Older groups will have cinema and bowling trips and we again thank all the team mentors who continue to help out.

Although the 2012 playing season is over for all Carrick Swan teams, work is currently taking place behind the scenes in the club in preparation for 2013 and beyond. On Wednesday last, the club held a meeting to gauge interest on running GAA certified coaching courses for selectors and mentors within the club. The turnout was very positive and a Foundation Award Coaching Course will be held in the coming weeks in the Juvenile Hall. The date will be finalised at a later time and anybody with an interest in completing this coaching course is asked to contact the club via email, facebook or through a committee member as soon as possible.

On Friday last, a recently formed sub-committee met to prepare for Stage Two of the Carrick Swan Five Year Club Plan. Stage Two involves going through and expanding on the brilliant ideas received in our Club Planning Workshop which was held recently in the Juvenile Hall. If you’ve an interest in helping the club grow and forming part of a focus group, please don’t hesitate to contact  the club via email, facebook or through a committee member. Many who could not attend our Club Planning Workshop are encouraged to lend their support and become actively involved in making Carrick Swan GAA club better in all aspects in the years to come.
