The death has occurred of our esteemed Vice-President William Lonergan after a long battle with ill health which was borne with great dignity. William was one of our most decorated players  being the proud holder of 2 All-Ireland medals, won in minor hurling in 1959 and in intermediate hurling in 1966, he also won 3 south senior hurling medals in 1959, 1974 when he captained the team and then in 1978 winning his last at nearly 38 years of age. Last year William was a very worthy recipient of the Sean Gael Award in Thurles.  A wonderful servant to the club William went on to be a valuable selector and then a very able administrator being Club Trustee and Vice-President at the time of his passing, he will be sadly missed by all in the club and we offer our condolences to all his family at this sad time.
