Carrick Swan GAA Club congratulates Jimmy Hogan on his Sean Gael Award, this award will be presented on Sunday November 23rd in 'The Dome' Thurles.
Jimmy has given great service to the Carrick Swan Club. Jimmy was an outstanding hurler and was a member of the Tipperary Minor Hurling Panel of 1946 when they won the Munster Final and only lost narrowly to Dublin in the All Ireland Final. He was also a Selector on the Tipperary team that won the All Ireland Intermediate Hurling title of 1972.
Jimmy won a County Senior Hurling medal in 1947 as part of a Swan panel that became the first from South Tipperary to win the title when they defeated Borrisoleigh.
He went on to win many south medals with Carrick Swan throughout his career and on retiring as a player he became a mentor and was a brilliant motivator, Jimmy also served as a Chairman of the club and gave great leadership; he is highly regarded in the Swan Club and still attends matches on a regular basis.
