Carrick Swan GAA Notes – Monday 06thAugust 2012

Carrick Swan junior hurlers played Knockavilla in county league quarter final on Wednesday evening last and ran out convincing winners of a very entertaining game 3-20 to 2-13. This win qualified them for semi-final against Thurles Sarsfields, a game scheduled to be played on Tuesday evening of this week – report next week.  This team is scheduled to play Moyle Rovers in south championship game on Thursday evening 09thAugust in Goatenbridge. Carrick Swan minor hurlers will play Kilsheelan on Friday evening in Ned Hall Park at 7.30 p.m.

Carrick Swan under 14 hurlers played Kilsheelan on Thursday evening last and recorded a good win after a most competitive game. They play Moyle Rovers on Tuesday evening on the Green in final group game with place in knock-out stages already secured. Last week’s under 16 fixture against St.Patricks was postponed due to club bereavement. We play Ballingarry on Tuesday evening next in Davin Park. Carrick Swan hosted visiting under 10 teams from St.Patricks and Ballyneale/Grangemockler on the Green on Saturday morning where there was some very enjoyable hurling games played by all those participating.

The numbers drawn in last week’s juvenile lotto were 9,10,11 & 21. We had no winner of our jackpot prize of €2,750 and four players matched three numbers to win €50 each.  Carrick Swan Club thanks all those who continue to play our lotto and remind those who might like to join that weekly entry is €2 and this can be paid to any committee member, or to any of our lotto promoters who will call to collect each week. This week’s jackpot prize is €3,000

Tipperary draw members are reminded that next draw takes place on Friday 10th August. Please ensure that monthly subscriptions are paid up to date. We also thank Michael Dunne, who again this year provided signage on the club, and James O’Neill for his photography. We thank the Athletic Club and Presentation school for use of their equipment and we also thank our own club personnel and team mentors and especially our ladies committee for their great work.
