Carrick Swan GAA Notes

Monday 17thOctober 2011.

Carrick Swan under 16 hurlers scheduled re-fixture against Ballybacon in south semi-final was again postponed on Sunday last. It will now take place next weekend and we wish our team and their mentors the best of luck.

A second member of our under 16 panel fell ill this week with appendicitis and had to be hospitalised for surgery. We wish John Paul Roche a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in action soon.

Many of our under-age teams have moved indoors for training now and the mini leagues taking place are providing great entertainment with great skills on show. We thank all those who continue to give generously of their time with our juvenile players and we encourage others to become involved and help out when they can.

The numbers drawn in last week’s juvenile lotto were 10, 11, 21, 26  We had no jackpot winner – and four match 3 winners who each win €50 – Brian Kearney Collins Park, Tara Hogan Main Street, Helena Kerwick Ormonde Crescent and Craig Walsh Mountain View.  Next week’s jackpot is €2,500 and we sincerely thank all those who continue to support and play our weekly lotto. Entry is €2 and this can be paid to any of our promoters or any committee member.

Our next juvenile disco will take place on Friday 28thOctober with Halloween fancy dress prizes. More details next week.

Carrick Swan’s annual juvenile flag days will be on Friday 11th and Saturday 12thNovember. We will be looking for players and members to help out at collection points and would appreciate if those who are available on either day could give their names to any committee member.

Both the south minor (A) and intermediate hurling finals were played in Davin Park on Saturday last. We congratulate the winning teams and compliment the Davin Park committee for their work in preparation of field and surrounding areas.
